Welcome:  The meeting was opened by President Zak . There were a total of 13 members present and 6 guests.

Zak explained to the potential new members and guests that the club meets every month on the 3rd Tuesday and that the membership fee is $25 for individual members and $40 for family memberships. The fees help the club pay for guest speakers, trips, and training sessions as well as rent for the space in the Center for the Arts.

The club website and email address are on the first slide of the slide show and there is a calendar of events on the web site.

Treasurer’s Report
There is a current  balance of approximately $4,125.

Volunteers
The club needs someone to coordinate the volunteer fundraising activity at the Crow River Winery and dinner theater. This coordinator will need to commit to being there all 3 nights that the club members will be serving food. Anyone who might be interested should contact Kristine for details. We would like to have this coordinator lined up by August.

The 48 in 48 photo challenge will be August 5 through August 7. The categories will be released to the participants at 5 pm on Friday, August 5. The deadline for signing up for the contest is 5 pm on Friday, August 5. All photos entered in the challenge are due by 5 pm on Sunday, August 7. There is a wide variety of prizes for this contest including door prizes.

Upcoming Workshops:

• How to Make Portraits using Natural Light with Kristine on July 5, 2016 at 7 pm. The cost for this workshop is $5.00 per person.
• Macro Workshop with Dave Johnson from National Camera on Sunday, July 10 from 1 pm until 5 pm. The cost for this workshop is $15.00 per person.
• Composition with Linda  Baysinger Peck on Wednesday, July 27.

Anyone interested in attending these workshops should contact Zak or Kristine by email. Future workshops like these will require a minimum attendance of 4 because we need to pay to rent this space.

We are headed to York Farm after the club meeting tonight. There are a lot of interesting things for photographers including structures, pigs, pond, vineyard, and flowers. Feel free to roam at your own pace. Anyone who would like to can share their photos with York Farm by uploading those photos to the club’s Flickr account.

In July, we will be touring local gardens, like we did last year. We also have the option of setting up and shooting still lifes here at the Center for the Arts for those who don’t want to go on the garden tour.

For those who ordered photo club shirts, the online store, created just for us is closing this Friday.

We are working on getting our damage deposit refunded for the trip to Door County. Club members who attended that trip will receive their refunds.

Club discussion regarding the fundraising events at Clay Coyote and Crow River Winery. Both fundraisers have advantages and disadvantages to them and it’s hard to find enough volunteers to fill all the shifts for both events. The club voted, by narrow margin of 8 to 6, to keep Crow River Winery and to stop Clay Coyote for next year. The 48 in 48 event is expected to grow and replace the funds lost to the club by not serving food at Clay Coyote.

Bryan Hansel Night Skies Photography – this workshop is set for August 26 from 7:30 pm until midnight. The cost is $60.00 per person and volunteer hours cannot be used to offset that fee. The workshop will include photographs of sunset, the blue hour, star trails, light painting, the Milky Way, and one on one instruction with Bryan. Those members interested in taking this workshop need to contact Barb after the meeting and make their payments. Email reminders will be sent to the participants closer to the event and the event will be posted to the Club’s event calendar.

Color Battle Photo Shoot

Beth Gasser is setting up another photo shoot she is titling Color Battle, which will be held on April 3. She is offering it to a group of six photographers. If you are interested, please contact Kristine before the end of the meeting. If there are more than six photographers, Beth stated she would organize another shoot in the future.

Kelby One Training

Kelby One prefers that we use a group membership discount rather than using one license for the whole club. The group membership for 5 to 20 members would cost $159 per person. For 21 to 40 members the cost would be $149/person. We must have a minimum of five members before we can get the group membership cost. If you are interested, contact Barb at [email protected]. Payments must be received by February’s meeting. To date, we have received three payments.

• To learn how to get to a higher level in photography.
• The size of the club doesn’t matter to most people.
• We should have a short five to ten minute general blurb on how to use your camera, equipment or software. Example – how to get rid of acne using Photoshop. Janet will do the first presentation.

What to do if you are approached about the club doing volunteer work:

• To ensure the club meets expected requirements when providing services to outside requests, all requests for the Photography Club’s services must be directed to the club President. The President will gather the necessary information pertaining to the Statement of Work form and present it to the Executive Board who will then decide whether the club will take on the project. The project will then be assigned one contact person from the club to act as coordinator for the project. The coordinator will work closely with the requester and relay information to other people on the project and the board.
• If the requester asks for specific members to provide the shots, we will suggest the requester to contact the photographer separate from the club as the club is by volunteer only.
• When taking photos for the club, please do not put your logo on the print.

September’s meeting was Roman’s last meeting as president and Justin’s last meeting as vice-president. Roman held the president position for approximately five years and Justin held the vice-president position for approximately two years. The board would like to thank both men for their time, knowledge and ideas to improve and promote the club.

In the interim, Zak will serve as president and David will serve as vice-president until their position is up for election.
